This song is about what I think it might be like to die. (I hope that doesn't alarm anyone - I don't think about dying often, and as you can hear in this song, I believe it is just a part of the process of becoming closer to God).
Late in the recording process Brooke suggested she sing it instead of me, and I'm glad I listened to her advice. The song fits her much better than it fit me, and it really brought new life and energy into the song.
lyrics
I'm going to vanish any day
It's not a question of if but of in what way
Over time or in the blink of an eye
You'll look for me and I'll be gone
Call out my name, oh, but in vain
I'm just floating near the Sun
I'm going to move on to greater things
Leave behind this world of suffering
Cross the finish line with my hands on my head
I'm going to miss you all so much
But what a trade, what a deal we've made
Oh, my body was such a crutch
I'm going to be buried six feet under ground
But I won't be without all the sights and sounds
I'll embody them and bless those alive
With unending joy and unending peace
Until that day, I'll be the one blessed
Until my pulsing, it does cease
